My laptop went a little wide yesterday and I lost most of my settings.

A friend remotely restored my computer to a previous date (about a week ago).

Of course all is back to normal and running fine, except I am not sure how he did it.

Could someone step me through the precess so I can handle it myself next time.

    Thanks in advance.

    Thank you John:

Not only did I get the information in record speed, but I also found a great website "How-To Geek"
that should answer many other questions.

    Thanks again

You should also have a look at http://www.vistax64.com, particularly http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials.

    Lots of good stuff there.
