My OS is Vista Home Premium. I'm getting an error message when launching a newly installed program: autoUpdater has stopped working. A problem caused the program to stop working correctly. Windows will close the program and notify you if a solution is available. Close program.

I've tried changing the compatability settings, turned off data execution protection, and searched the web, all to no avail. Have any of you encountered this?

    Thanks!

I've also posted in their forums, but they're stumped too.

Was the installer executed by right clicking and select "run as administrator"?

I notice this is beta software. Is it supposedly compatible with Vista?

I guess I should've asked, does http://www.contestninjaelite.com/ say that autoUpdater is theirs?

The admin said he was going to have to do some testing... he has a Windows Vista Home Premium machine, and it seems to work a-ok there. I posted a question asking if the autoUpdater is theirs and will let you know. Thanks!

Yes, the admin said it is their custom autoresponder and is pretty straightforward in how it checks for updates.

Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling?

Yes I did. It actually worked a couple of times (not getting the autoUpdater error); however, now I get Run-Time error 5: invalid procedure call or argument. I don't know if that's a fault of my machine, or their code.

Since it says it is a beta release I'd tend to blame their code. This might be something to investigate at their forums. You may have better luck since that does not seem to be an installation issue.
