A friend has a Dell Inspiron E1505 laptop. He was given a battery from a Dell Inspiron 6000 - which is identical in size and will fit in his Dell E1505. Are batteries interchangeable from one type of laptop to another? Will there be a problem if he installs the battery into his laptop?

I've never heard of an Inspiron 1505: did you mean a 1525?

The 6000 and 1520 - 1525 series all use the same 11 volt, 4400mAH batteries and are interchangeable. If your friend really has a 1505, then chances are its the same.

    Hi Terry,

It is a E1505 Inspiron - so you think the battery would be interchangeable?? Thanks.

Presumably if it fits it will work. But a quick check of several battery vendors shows different model #s for the batteries of these 2 laptops. I'd send send an e-mail to Dell and ask.
