Hello - I was wondering what you folks use for ....
    Disk backup software
    Disk imaging software

Is there a real good combo of disk backup/imaging software

I'd like a product with great customer support

These are 2 different things. You can copy your disk with any burning program. I still use Nero 6.6 with my XP. FreeBurner is, well, free, and I sometimes use that. If i had had FreeBurner years ago, Iwouldn't have bought Nero.

Imaging your system--Acronis is the most well-known, but I prefer the Free EASEUS Todo Backup and Seagate Disc Wizard for my Seagate.
I image just the C drive with System+programs, as data is backed up just by copying onto another computer over my network. Everyone has their own method.

A really nice product, particularly if you have more than one PC, is Windows Home Server – media server, backup and data recovery solution. You can backup up to 10 PCs. See the web site as there is much more you can do with it.

Tim, I just noticed you mentioned customer support. I can't vouch for that on any of the programs I use, as I rarely need customer support. I stay mostly with free programs, and if it doesn't work, I switch to something else. But "great customer support" exists almost nowhere these days, even in major companies. You're 10 years too late. The best you can hope for is a good help file and/or an online forum at their website. Seagate does have support if you have problems with their product, but I think that program is strictly for Seagate HD's.

Thank you for your replies. They are much appreciated.

My new drive is a 1 TB Seagate Barracuda, so it comes with the Seagate software. I also have Maxtor's Max Blast software. I will also be taking a look at the solutions that you folks recommended.

    Thanks again,
    Tim

I found some info on another Windows Secrets lounge - Security and Backups.

New Egg is offering Acronis True Image Home 2010 for $34.99 - $25 mail in rebate = $9.99

    See:
    http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produc...-012-_-Product

Based on recommendations here, tonight I purchased Acronis True Image Home 2010 from Newegg and it is free shipping. To get the $25 rebate you must purchase by 05/14/2010. Seems like a great deal for a net cost of $9.99 delivered.

I use True Image Home 2010. The deal mentioned by Tim is exceptional. I wish I had waited a few months as I paid considerably more than $9.99. The program just works.
