    Dear Loungers,

I have found that if I have customised groups in the navigation pane I can renae the shortcut but, it seems, not the underlying object. the only way I have managed to do this is by removing it from the group, renaming it (it will show in unassigned) and then moving back where I want it. Is there a way to do it in situ?

    thank you.....liz

It appears that is the way it works. If you want to rename an object, since that object name is used in the grouping, you first have to remove it from the group, rename it, and then add it back in. Quite frankly, I've never been able to make effective use of Categories and Grouping in 2007 - it appears it was intended to replace the "Favorites" from 2000/2/3 - but it doesn't provide the same function with the same degree of ease.

I don't use these Groupings and Categories at all...but what happens if you rename the object using Rick Fishers Find and Replace?
