    Dear Loungers,

    When building a Macro and using GoToCotrol would llike to specify something like this:
    =Like "partial controlname"
    This is so I can use the same macro in several forms and where I want to say "go to the first field on the form". However help says to use a field or control name and I haven't found a way to do otherwise... so is this possible in some way?

    thank you........................ liz

    p.s. on the subject of common macros I wonder what the impact on performance might be,if any, if I use common macros as opposed to embedded ones?

    i hope this will help you along thr giht lines, but,

    part of the Go to control is a first record.

    something like;

    Code:
    DoCmd.GoToRecord acDataForm, , acFirst
    never really used it myself, but, as its less than half a line of code, i doubt embeded would make much difference in performance.

    Not sure how helpful this is. but like i say, i hope it puts you on the right lines.

    Chris.

    Code:
    DoCmd.GoToRecord acDataForm, , acFirst
    Going to the first record is a completely different thing to going to the first control.
