    Unhappy

    A friend of mine recently upgraded from 2003 to 2007 and does not have a status bar. It isn't a question of right-clicking and no items are checked. When he right clicks nothing happens. Below the sheet names there is only the border. Zoom does not show, nor does Ready. As I said, no bar at all. I don't believe he had installed any add-ins that might have turned it off. I know it was a simple check-box in 2003 to display or not display. I sent him a workaround for now by creating a new template and added a macro to turn the status bar on and am having him create his new docs from that. That's fine for stuff he creates, but I also sent him one of my workbooks to ensure it wasn't just an issue with specific workbooks. He could not see the status bar on the file I sent him either (I can). That says to me it's somewhere in Excel that I can't find. Any ideas?

    Nevermind - when all else fails, boot your computer! He did that and the issue disappeared.
