Thread: dual boot ?

    Hi all-i have win7 prem. on drive(pre installed) c-i want to install win7 pro. on a partitioned drive-will it create a dual boot as did xp or do i have to get a 2/3 party program to create a dual boot ?
    Thanks for any replies or help-am not quite a newbie but figured i would ask before trying myself. thanks again.

    Is your drive already partitioned (I can't tell from your post)? If not, you can go into Disk Manager (under Computer | Manage) and reduce the size of the partition holding Home Premium. You can then install Pro in the remaining.

    Though I am not sure why you would want to dual-boot Home Premium and Pro. Did your PC come with a restoration partition, and do you have instructions on how to create DVDs from that partition? My HP laptop can with such instructions - I created the DVDs and then wiped the drive and installed what I wanted.

    thanks for the reply-i found that during install to partition it will give me the choice of a dual boot-thanks again
