I have excel 2007 and use in compatibility mode so other users can read it.

I have several charts in a spreadsheet. These seem to shrink in size gradually over time. The actual area for the overall chart stays the same, but the chart itself shrinks within the area of for the chart. To fix it I have to select each chart and resize it to fit the overall chart actual area. But it continues to happen again over time. Each shrinkage is quite small, but accumulates over several days and the spreadsheet is updated.

Anyone know how to fix this?

What chart type are you using? Does it happen with all chart types?

Mixed bar graph with a line graph using the secondary axis on the right. I only use this type, so not sure if it happens on other types also.

Are you adding data that increases the range of any of the axes? It might be self-adjusting accordingly.

No, I set the complete range of dates up front, and this does not change.

OK, and I assume the horizontal axis has your dates. But what about the vertical axes? Do they ever change in range?

Is your copy of Excel fully patched? There are quite a lot of bugs with the new chart/shapes models, but many have been fixed by SP2 and other updates.

Curious. I've never seen nor heard of this problem before, and I use the compatibility mode too.

Can you post a sample spreadsheet with one of the problematic graphs so owe can take a look? Randomize your data and any text in it before posting, for privacy reasons.

I suspect it's related to some option setting, but I couldn't guess which one though.
