Whereas in IE7 seldom used Favorites were hidden from appearing on the drop down favorites menu, this feature seems to have been deleted from IE8. Thus with a potentially long list of favorites, they ALL appear each time one uses the drop down menu, & one has to scroll down a long way to find a 'W', say Weather, for example. Or are we missing something? Any thoughts would be appreciated.

I've never noticed that feature before and so it's not missed.
You could try organizing your favorites into subfolders and numbering schemes.

I think the OP is referring to the "History" that is listed when the drop down arrow is clicked on the address bar.
A lot of users insist that this is the "Favorites".

Now running HP Pavilion a6528p, with Win7 64 Bit OS.

Although I have used the #'s in front of files for years, and also the "Sort by Name" in my Favorites, I never thought about combining the two.
    Not a bad idea Clint

Got it, I seldom use the History section to any appreciable extent.
But the numbering scheme of sites and folders in "favorites" are highly workable.
