Is there any way to change the default icon behavior in the notifications Area in Windows 7?

The default icon behavior is 'Only show notifications' for application icons for icons in the Notification Area in Windows 7. This results in a new icon having 'Only show notifications' and then the need to go in to the customization screen and change it. I would like every new icon to have 'Show Icon & Notifications' as the default behavior.

Window 7 gives the “Always show all icons and notifications on the task bar” but this will show everything (even what I don’t want to show). What I want is new icons to show but my old preferences to remain.

    Thanks

Thanks, none of those sites address this. I guess it is not possible unfortunately.
