    I occasionally get a message that "The Connection was Reset" in Firefox 3.6.3, usually from following a link. However, many links in emails produce this, and one commercial email sender's links ALWAYS produce this. I haven't yet tried making IE the default (may not be able to get Firefox back as default!) to see if I get the same result from the email.

    Is there a known cause for this?

    This post talks a lot about add ons or extensions causing these type of problems. it appears that there may be different ones causing different problems for different sites on different PC's. Boy that's a lot of differents, whew. I hope this might help.

    Does the page load normally if you reload?

    While the error message might not be technically accurate in all cases, it implies that the server (or an upstream device such as a router) abruptly terminated the connection. This could be due to load on the server, or some program filtering traffic, or...

    Reload just gives me the same message.
