Hi all. I have a strange one, that I've not come across before. I have all my photos in one folder. Some of the photos are in subfolders, others are not. Some in the subfolders will be repeats of those that are in the main body.
The problem is, the titles of the thumbnail photos are correct, as per the opened, full size picture. However, quite a lot of the thumbnail pictures are of different subjects, even though the full size photo is correct. For example a picture of Zephyr. The title is Zephyr, the opened full size picture is of Zephyr, as expected, but the actual thumbnail picture might be Bossons. As far as I can see, this is only in the pictures in the main body, and does not happen to the photos in their subfolders.
Is there some simple explanation for this, and can I somehow, simply, get the correct thumbnail pictures?
    Cheers, Keith.

    Hi Keith

That sounds like a corrupt thumbs.db file in that folder.
Thumbs.db is the thumbnail cache that gets built for the purpose of displaying the thumbnail pictures in Windows versions prior to Vista.
To fix it you should delete the existing file and let the system re-create it:

    - Open windows explorer
    - Set it to display hidden files (thumbs.db is hidden) if not already so
    - Navigate to the folder in question
    - Change the view to something other than thumbnails (such as list)
    - Delete thumbs.db
    - Change the view back to thumbnails and windows will re-create thumbs.db.

For someone else who might be having similar problems open folder options and ensure "Always show icons, never thunbnails" is not checked. This seems like an obvious thing, but it did perplex me for a long while.
