I would like to send wmv files that are > 100 MB. At one time transferbigfiles.com would accept up to 1 GB free, but now limits free uploads to 100 MB.

    (1) does anyone know of a free site that accepts large files?
    (2) does anyone know of a program that splits a large file into parts that then can be put back together by a computer challenged user? There used to be a DOS program split/stitch that would span a file over several floppy disks back in the day and I'm looking for something similar.

    Thanks!

A Google Search shows numerous possibilities. I can not vouch for any as I have not used any of them.

Google docs will let you store, and share, files up to 1GB in size, see http://docs.google.com/support/bin/a...n&answer=37603

Check out What's Pando? | Pando. You can still send up to a 1GB file for free. I used Pando in the past but it has been at least a couple of years since I last used it. Just pay attention when you install so you don't add any extras.

You might also try Windows Live SkyDrive. It allows you 25GB of on-line file storage. All you need is an @hotmail.com or @live.com e-mail account.
Caution: You need to be careful of who you invite to view your on-line files and what Permissions you give them. Setting the permissions to "view/download only" is recommended.

I use SkyDrive when I'm out of town and want to send files from my Laptop for later retrieval on my Desktop when I get home. I set all privacy options to "Just Me".
    Happy Computing,

    Rich
