    Just allocated new PC, with Excel 2010. However when CTL + C pressed, error &H80004005 occurs. THe Microsoft forum siggestion did not work, what do I need to do to corect this?

    It could be an ADD-IN they are sometimes the cause of this error.
    Are there any add-ins running?
    You could try disabling them one at a time and see if it makes any difference.

    THat is my next step, but on inspection they are what I would expect - but who knows?

    In this instance the problem was with the Conditional Sum Add in. So immediate problem solved, now to start chasing the solution for the problematic Add In
