Hi have a problem with .Net 4.0 on my Windows 7 x64 system.
I use a number of .Net applications and gadgets written for .Net 3.5, and these work just fine.
However a few newer applications require .Net 4.0, for example ComicRack. If I update .Net to 4.0 (either by using the web downloader or Windows Update), it installs correctly, but following a reboot several older applications no longer function, and any application specifically written for .Net 4.0 does not recognise it is installed:

If I uninstall .Net 4.0, my existing applications all work again, except of course the .Net 4.0 ones.

I have already tried the following troubleshooting steps:
    -Uninstalling and reinstalling .Net 4.0
-Using the .Net Cleanup Tool to remove .Net 4.0 completely, and reinstalling
-Disabling .Net 3.5 in Windows (it cannot be uninstalled), then installing .Net 4.0

None of these make any difference, so I hope someone here has some ideas on what I can try next.

Thanks for the link Russ, but that does not help.

I've found that the DLL mscoreei.dll cannot load for some reason, and it cannot even be registered using regsvr32.exe (for both the 32-bit and 64-bit versions).
I have no clue how to proceed, all dependencies of mscoreei.dll do load succesfully and the DLL looks okay.
