I just upgraded from a 2-version of Firefox to Firefox 3.6.3. There are two ways I have already noticed that it has changed and, in my opinion, not for the better. I am wondering if it is possible to reconfigure these:

    1. Closing last tab. With the 2-version with one tab open, I could click on that tab using the center button of the mouse and that tab would close and give me a blank tab. I really liked that and used it all the time. Firefox 3.6.3 cannot do this.
    2. Going to Google. With the 2-version, I could click on the button beside the search area and be taken to google.com. Now, it gives me a drop-down list of search engines. I prefer going to google.com to search and would like it to behave in the old way.

    Any suggestions would be appreciated.

#1 There is no solution I know of for this.
#2 On drop-down list choose "manage search engines" remove all that you do not want so only have Google left. Then only need to click on the magnifying glass to be taken direct to Google.

    Hope this helps

With FF there is ALWAYS a way to make it work how you want.
    For #1:
Install the Add On 'Tab Mix Plus' and:
Under "Options>Events>Closing Last Tab" Put a Check in "Do not close Window when Closing Last Tab"
