    Hi, All

This should be viewed as something of a warning. I am running Windows 7 64 bit on and Intel Core 2 Duo system with 4 GBs of Ram. Early yesterday I tried to download and install the Windows Live Essentials beta. Windows Live Photo Gallery, Family Safety and Live Mail all failed to install after removing the earlier versions of themselves. I was left unable to open emails or view stored photos.

After 2 hour, and many failed attempts to reinstall these programs, I had to use System Restore to turn the system back to before I tried update. I donít know whether this is just some quirk in my computer or whether there is something wrong with these new betas. Proceed at your own risk.

I suspect there may be a problem with the beta apps. Not positive and I do not intend to find out. Some apps I do play with beta, but these seem to be working fine the way they are so why tamper with success. They are betas however becaus ethey are working out the kinks and they enlist our help to do so.

Any beta program is just that, a beta. Expect problems and anticipate them by having a ready made backup,
or some other means to undo the damage that may or may not be done.

    User beware.
