I have an Excel file that, when I open it, gives me a Security Warning that Automatic update of links has been disabled. When I click Options, Enable this content, it tells me that it contains links that cannot be updated. If I Continue, nothing happens. If I choose Edit Links, it lists a spreadsheet that has now been deleted. Whatever option I choose from this message box, no spreadsheet opens. How can I get the spreadsheet to open without the missing file? If it is not possible, how can I access the data withing the broken spreadsheet? (XP, Excel 2007).
    Many thanks, in advance, egaten.

When you go into the Edit Links option have you trued the Break Link option? I think that should solve the problem.
