Greetings, I was just wondering if anyone has a solution for my Blue ray writer (LiteOn) not reading CDs. It is supposed to be backwards compatible all the way through CDs. It is less than a year old. It doesn't stumble on DVDs just CDs (when I need to install drivers or new hardware with software on a CD. The writer is just over a year old. I have only used it about 10 times (never wrote to it yet on blue ray, DVD or CD). I have flashed it to the current 'bios' using LiteOn's flash system. I don't know why this is having a problem as it appears fully functional in device manager. I'm using Vista Ultimate 64, 8 gigs Ram, with all updates current. I am getting tired of having to boot up a sister machine just to play a CDROM for installing purposes. Anyone have an idea or fix for me? Thanx in advance.

2010-07-03 02:01The reader should handle all the different format disks on it's own, no drivers needed.
Test it in another computer and if it's still dodgy have it replaced under warranty.
