    I cannot get the association for WAV files to work. I tried setting it in Default Programs, and it seems fine, but then when I open a WAV file it wants to associate it with Windows Media Player. I tried using "Open With", but got the same results.

    I even tried a repair using SubInACL, but that didn't change anything.

    How can I get this extension to do what I want?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

    What app are you attempting to associate wav files with? Is this app installed properly? By default Windows associates wav files with Windows Media Player.

    Ted, I ended up trying a couple different ones -- I try not to have to use WMP for "basic sounds" as I find it clunky.

    Ted, I understand that many think I "screw around" with things too much and often...nevertheless, if you care to take a look at the ** 3K ** player of WAV files that I use ( and have now gotten the association working), you can find it here:

    Since your original question was about assoicating .WAV files with a particular program and you say now you've done that, do you care to share how for the benefit of others?

    Joe / Dave;

    Joe, I took the easy way out and reloaded an image backup. Nothing I tried at all was working, so I figgered that something must have gotten corrupted.

    Dave, yes, on a Windows 7 machine. There is no install, no added fines, no nothing. Just the exe file. And nothing gets loaded into memory or anywhere else. It just plays the file and is gone. And it works. Immediate play with no frills.

    Regards,
    Chuck
