    Hi all,

A few users (Active Directory) have complained that their accoutns are getting locked even though they are typing in their password correctly. Does anyone know what could cause the problem apart from someone trying to hack into their email account or the user typing in the password incorrectly?

Many thanks for all your help.

1.) Someone trying to hack the account (not just email) or the account already was hacked and the password changed.
2.) A user typing the password incorrectly enough times to lock the account and then discovering the error (e.g. not paying attention to caps lock).
3.) A policy on the server concerning the accounts - password change or account expiration.

A scheduled job with the old password? Check to see where the account was locked and when with the MS Account Lockout Tools.
