Had to re-install Windows XP. Did an over the top because I cannot find the Office CD for re-install. Now, Windows does not know that I have a legit install of Office on the computer.

How do I get Windows XP to know that Office is installed?

    Thanks!E-mail me

Do a reinstall of the Office suite, you may have to use a 3rd party removal tool, like Revo uninstaller.

Invest a little time and energy in a well thought out BACKUP regimen and you will have minimal down time, and headache.

Build your own system; get everything you want and nothing you don't.

If you did an actual install instead of a repair, you will have to reinstall office.

    Steven, Welcome to the lounge.

I'm sorry but I do not have good news either, unless you can find your original Office installation disk, you may be out of luck. You can try calling MS, but when I have had to call it's because my Office reinstall was over the limit of activated copies and I had to get MS to issue new activation, but who knows, it may help.
