I'm receiving many (many!) repeat spam emails and the built-in spam filter in Thunderbird just doesn't seem to be learning from all the times I mark them as junk.

Can anyone recommend a better spam filter as a Thunderbird plugin?

You can also use the filters under Tools>Message Filters. i also use that to sort messages from certain people into subfolders.
