Am very much a rookie with Access. Have created a report via Wizard and then gone into design mode to further tweak it. Two fileds on the report are the result of seperate List Boxes (to control input via a form) and they show up as white text on black background with a hairline border. I'm hoping someone can explain to me how to get rid of the border and make the text black on no background. Thanks, Pete

    Pete,

I tried creating a report {using the wizard Access 2003 SP3} from a test table that had a listbox lookup. I couldn't reproduce your situation. Can you provide any more information or possibly upload a sterilized version of your database?

In the example below Agency has a listbox defined as the input method in the table.

Thank you for your help, hope retirement is going well and that you are comfortable. On the attached file I have removed all records but one so if you run the report using a date of 7/21 you should see the reversed text. Thanks, Pete

I am not sure why they are black, but in Design View, right click on each of the two fields, and choose "change to...Text box" and that should fix them.

Because you have specified them as combo boxes in the table design, that is the way they are appearing even though they don't have a drop down.

    Pete,

Ok, I think I have it figured out.

First, let's correct a possible problem with the Table design of the THEME table. The THEME field should not be a lookup type! This is the base table for the Lookup in the Incidents table.
    1. So get into design mode on the THEME table.
    2. Click on the THEME field
    3. Click on the Lookup tab
    4. Click in the Display Control box
    5. Select "Text Box".
    6. Save the table design

Now to fix the two fields in the Report.
    1. Open the Report in Design mode.
    2. Right-click on the Theme field
    3. Select Change To
    4. Select Text Box
    5. Repeat for the Status field.

    This should clear things up.

    John,

There go those fingers getting of the cranium again! You're right I meant TextBox.

Thanks for the catch. I've edited the original post in case someone doesn't read this far.
