External hard drive

Hello –
(XP, SP 2)
Is it possible to copy the OS from a PC to another PC whose hard drive crashed and use the external drive on that PC?

If so, can you point the way to a tutorial or give the instructions here? Many thanks!

In a word, no!
Your best bet is to remove the drive from the crashed machine and put it in an external caddy, then connect it to a good machine and backup/copy your data.
