I recently installed Norton Internet Security 2010 with phone support from Symantec. The technician insisted I uninstall Malwarebytes and SuperAntiSpyware saying they would conflict with the Norton product. Is this correct? I also have Ad-Aware and SpybotS&D but he didn't mention these. From what I have read, it seems wise to have additional anti-spyware programs or is the Symantec technician correct? I would love to know what the correct logic is regarding this topic.

As long as you are not using any realtime scanning feature you should be OK. Neither the free version of Malwarebytes not SuperANitspyware does realtime scanning.
