    Hello,

I recently purchased way, way, way too much cat 5e cable in blue and gray color and also lots of RJ-45 crimp jacks.
I got the cable and the jack at a very cheap price and since I don't need as much as I purchased I was thinking about making patch cables at various lengths and selling them.
I want to know what lengths would be best to sell and therefore I have set up a poll where you can vote your answer.

    Thanks for all your input.

That is good, and best of luck to you, but I would not advise making any ahead. just take orders for any custom length to maximum of ??? (whatever you deem).
That way you will not waste any time and anyone can order just what they want.

I assume you are only selling them in North America, hence everything in feet?

    cheers, Paul

That would be correct Paul. Unless you think I would be better off selling them in metric lengths instead?

The US lost a martian exploration probe because they didn't understand metric, I doubt LAN cables in metres will be much use - and the spelling would confuse everyone. ;-))

    cheers, Paul

LOL Paul. I was born here in America and have always lived here, but I still can't stand the American Standard System. I am a very handy person...hence my name being Handy Andy, so from experience I think the metric system makes a lot more sense and is much easier. It is also frustrating to have two sets of tools for example socket sets and wrenches and have to lug them around in my car for work. Not to mention the added weight causing less fuel economy, and also the fact that you have to spend twice as much.

Here in America we really should just convert over to metric. Fractions suck.

    Thanks for your reply,
    Andrew
