How to display seconds in taskbar clock?

There appears to be no option to display seconds in the taskbar clock in Windows 7. I'm wondering if there is a registry setting, or some other way within Windows 7, that will add seconds to the display. I am aware of TClockEx and other such programs but would rather not use a third-party solution.

Give this a try. Go to Control Panel | Clock,Language, and Region. Click on "Region and Language". Click on the "Additional Settings" button. Click on the "Time" tab. Add ":ss" to the short time format. OK your way out. Re-boot.

Sorry. In searching around some, it seems as though you can't do that without a third party product.

There is a way to do it, but it is in the clock's options, not Windows. Pick the clock you want, click on the Settings wrench or right click on the clock and pick Options and check Show second hand.

I believe you are talking about the Clock gadget. The OP (original poster) was asking about the clock in the notification area (system tray).
