I was given an eMachine TS3998 with built in camera card reader.
Computers ain't my generation but I reinstalled Win XP from the partition.
I put in my Smart Media camera card and it says = MEDIA IS NOT FORMATTED - WANT TO FORMAT NOW
I put in my HCSD camera card and it says = CAN'T PERFORM OPERATION DUE TO I/O DEVICE ERROR
BOTH cards have pix on them and work in the respective cameras.
There is no shmutz or garbage INSIDE the respective card slots.
I thought it would be a great thing to have the reader built into the puter.
I have no problem with using the camera cards with an EXTERNAL reader, but I'd like to avoid that if I can.
Any suggestions ??
Thanks in advance.

If you re-installed Windows you may also need to reinstall the device driver for the card reader. Most manufactures include a CD labeled something like "Device Drivers". If you don't have this CD you may need to go the the eMachines website and search for it there.
