I run a laptop cooling fan powered by a USB to some type of barrel connector. This cord has a short and I would like to get a new one. Obviously it is a 5 volt system. Are all of these barrel adapters the same for 5 volt applications. The barrel looks to be about 5 MM wide and is shorter than the length of the USB connector. It looks a lot like this (link below) except it is difficult to tell if this is the right connector on the barrel end or not.

    Thanks for any help

Have you checked the site of the OEM who makes the fan?

Not yet, this is not my computer and it is not in my possession. I am just doing this as a favor for someone else. I did think of that, but I could get one way cheaper on Ebay if the plugs types are standard.

The OEM might have a better description of the plug that would give yo more confidence about buying one somewhere else.
