Hi Loungers, I have just read http://windowssecrets.com/comp/100805 article re: Eliminate Flash. After using the removal tool and Ccleaner, I am unable to save my home page in Firefox (igoogle). Every time I open FF I have to 'sign in'. I have cleaned ALL in FF directly, attempted to store my home page (3-6 times) I have also tried to store a different temp home page. Ran CMD as admin. to flush dns. I also removed my stored 'sign in' username + password and was allowed to access my igoogle home page without having to re enter my details.
How do I get it to operate as I want?

I also had CCleaner problems with Firefox sites I wanted to remember data for even when I put in cookie exceptions for them. I now disable the Firefox options when using CCleaner. I did download the Better Privacy addon at:
    https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/6623/

mentioned in the article and set it to clear Flash cookies on exit with no bad consequences so far.

Hi Witalka, a few days ago, I got a warning from FF when opening it, the exact wording eludes me, but i followed the info and is now running normally (touch wood). whether it was my W7 desktop or Vista laptop I forget.
If I disable the entrys for FF in Ccleaner, install 'betterprivacy' add-on, how do you suggest its settings should be.

Glad to hear fixed your firefox issue.

I use the default settings in CCleaner with the exception of clearing all the Firefox entries on the application tab. I use the defaults in the better privacy tab. You could also look at this recent thread on CCleaner settings for other opinions:

Hey guys, using a password manager could solve your password problems. Browser password storage is not very secure. Check out Last Pass. It will work with both IE and FF and is very effective and very secure.
