Font color for worksheet tabs (2000)

    Hi,
I've just visited a colleague who somehow (she doesn't remember how) managed to change the font color on the worksheet tabs to blue; she also changed the font color of the row and column labels to blue. I'm trying to figure out how she did this. (I realize that, in the greater scheme of things, this is pretty trivial but I am curious!)

    Thanks.

Er - was she using Excel? I don't think that it is do-able, even in VBA. 1-2-3 will let you change some of those colour options.

Or did she play with her system colours ...

She must have used the Windows Appearance schemes. This feature is ready in the latest MS-Excel version 2002 or XP.

Since you noticed that the row and column headers have changed color, to the same color mind you, as well and since you mentioned the version being 2000. I guess it could be the Windows Appearance schemes. Right-Click on the desktop, and choose Properties, and activate the Appearance Tab. There you can experiment to your hearts content, plus you could download a whole bunch of schemes from the Internet.

Its possible with Excel 2002 or XP. See my reply to the original message.

Re: Font color for worksheet tabs (2000)

Thank to all who replied. I was already aware that in Excel 2000 you can't change the tab color - but it was the font color that my colleague had changed. I've subsequently learned that she played around in the Windows Control Panel (Display Properties - Appearance tab) and that the changes she made are Windows-wide.

    Cursiosity satisfied.
