My Vista SP2 computer won't stay running. I completely shuts down - powers off without any warnings or system messages. When I power it up it goes into a menu with a choice to use the HP recovery system or boot normally. Regardless of my selection it runs a minute or two and shuts down. I have booted from the Spotmau Powersuite disk and run those tests, but nothing is found defective and the system runs until I reboot. I would think that rules out hardware issues. Any suggestion are appreciated.
    Thanks!

Have you checked all the physical connections?

Have you cleaned the inside of the PC?

Can you boot to safe mode and have it run longer than a normal mode boot?

Have you changed any hardware or software recently?

Since your computer runs from the Spotmau Powersuite disk until you reboot, that suggests to me that the HDD may have problems.
Possibly bad/corrupted sector(s) or maybe the HDD electronics.

If possible, check the Computer Management Event Viewer for the system( not sure what the Vista Equivalent is) if the PC stays up long enough.
This will have anydisk access errors listed.
I had a laptop randomly reboot with errors because of access problems.

    Good luck
