Many people do not allow replies to a read receipt request. That is common way for spammers to tell if they reached a real address and a real person read their email.

This is normally an option in your mail program - it sets a value in the email that the client at the other end interprets as "tell me it's been read". There is also one for delivered.
As Joe says, most people turn off read receipt replies - if they don't they should.

    cheers, Paul

Your best bet is to ask that the recipient replies.
It is not very accurate, but about the only way to tell if the recipient read it and really cares about the content.
You may even be able to glean more "real" information from this.

Hi Roadrunner, I have both Live Mail and Gmail accounts. How do you set Live Mail to use Gmail?

Thanks in advance for the expected reply,

    Gloria

Gloria, I would think it's just a matter of adding a POP3 account to Live Mail. I'm sure a quick search will provide instructions.

    cheers, Paul

    Thank you Paul,
I'll do some searching and see what I come up with.

Hi Gloria, first, access gmail settings, enable POP but not IMAP set option to archive googles copy when accessed by POP. Now follow attachments.
