    Word (97 and 2000)

    Two word problems that we've encountered on a network that maybe someone can help with. It's a large network running on NT 4 service pack 6.

    1. The document looks perfect on screen but when you print some words merge into each other. This is quite random. It happens all over the document.

    2. The document is large and the page numbering will be setup like this: Page 1 of 120 etc. When you look at the document the numbering is perfect, page 1 of 120, page 2 of 120 etc. but when you print it the page numbering is completely wrong - page 1 of 1, page 2 of 2 etc. Any ideas and solutions? Much appreciated.

    Hi Beth,

    1) This sounds like an incorrect printer driver. Update the printer driver at the workstation having the problems and see if that takes care of it.

    2) You are running into the Page X of Y bug in both Word 97 and Word 2000. This article covers both versions:
