I have a Google tool bar but on the Internet address bar there is a duplicate Google search box. Next to it is a memu opening arrow. When opened, the first item is Google (Default) which is checked. Clicking on it does nothing. I suspect this is the key to deleting the duplicace box. I have tried the TOOLS > INTERNET OPTIONS > ADVANCED route but find nothing there.

Try looking in the: TOOLS>>"Manage add-ons" section of IE.

    Or, Tools>>Internet Options>>Programs>>manage Add-ons.

Thanks. I've tried the "manage add-on" before and it does nothing. I then tried JoeP's link. It led to an IE8 solution which had a link to an IE7 solution which I need. It had a long register change that I am not quite ready for. It also had a 334 byte download for the same thing but it couldn't seem to download that few bytes in the 5 minutes I waited so I gave up.

Looks like I spoke too soon JoeP. The download was successful but there was no indication of that. When I reloaded the duplicate Google box was gone. Thanks again to both of you for the quick help.
