Exchange mailbox ending soon - migration tips? (O98sr2 CW)

Hi
My university account (on Exchange server) is coming to an end as I stopped working there . I access it with O98 offline folders (and OWA), over a dial up connection. Most of the messages are sync'ed with the server, and other .pst files are on my machine and open. I've got a few pop accounts I use and one of these will be my main account from now on (currently on OE5, but will transfer to O98 or 2000).
My question is, what's the cleanest/best way to migrate the messages to a .pst from an .ost? Shall I create a new .pst from scratch, copy everything into there while offline, then sync with server? Or should I move all the messages into one of my local .pst's while connected. By next week I won't have access to things like server side rules !

Cheers

Hi Charles,

You can use the File, Import and Export Wizard process to copy your information from the server to a .pst. Choose the option to Export to a File, then choose Personal Folder File (.pst) from the Create file of type window. If you have any subfolders you want to include make sure you select that checkbox. It's a very easy process. just make sure you note where you are creating your new .pst.

Good luck!

Good luck with the new employment. As far as your mail goes, I think I'd make the new pst off line and create a folder system in it. I'd then select the contents of an ost folder and "Copy" them to the pst folders. Don't move items or the system may try to synch back up on you. You could try copying the ost system folders directly to the pst, but there might be some issues with that. I don't know, so I'm suggesting a more conservative approach.

Cheers!
