Adding a Drop Down Button to a Custom Toolbar (Word 97 SR2)

I have a Word template with a custom toolbar. Up 'til all I ever needed to do to add a new button to the toolbar was to open the Customize dialog box and drag a macro up to the toolbar. Now I have some macros that perform variations of the same task and I don't want to clutter the toolbar with individual buttons for each macro. Instead, I would like to add a button with a drop down arrow to the toolbar that would display several buttons. When the user selects a button then that button would become the default until they selected something else from the "list". From what I have been able to find, it would appear there is a control constant to do this: MsoControlSplitButtonMRUPopup. However, I have been unable to find any code examples of what I'm wanting to do. When I plug MsoControlSplitButtonMRUPopup in as the Control type in I get a runtime "5" error. Is there a way to do what I want to do? If so, once I add the control to the toolbar, how do I add buttons to the control for each of the macros?

    Thanks,

I've had trouble with 'Splitbutton' controls -- just getting built-in controls to work. They show up fine on the toolbar, but when clicked there's nothing there!

Why not try 'msoControlDropdown' instead. That seems closer to what you really want. IMHO
