When I start IE I get this message in a bar across the top "Internet
explorer is currently running with add-ons disabled. Click here to manage, disable or remove your add-ons." I click it and everything listed is enabled. If I close the message bar it seems to function normally but whenever I go to a new page it pops up again. What is causing this?
Also when I go to Microsoft Updates I am unable to install the Active X control required to view the web site. Are these issues related?

Are you starting IE with the "normal" desktop shortcut or a customized one?

Have you configured custom security levels?

I am starting it from a normal desktop icon.
The issue was resolved when I reset IE.

Stephen47, Delete IE icon from desktop, reboot, go to start menu, right click IE, send to desktop, create shortcut.
