delete text boxes Word 2007

Hi all. Looked through the forums but didn't see anything that applied to word 2007. Looking for a simple way to delete multiple text boxes in a word 2007 document (was converted from a PDF) while retaining the text. Any suggestions greatly appreciated.

from one who knows just enough to be dangerous, but is willing to learn and take advice.

There are a number of suggestions in this thread from last year - although it pertains to Word 2003, all of the suggestions should work in Word 2007 as well.

Have you tried Notepad to do this?
In Word Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C
In NotePad Ctrl-V, Ctrl-A, Ctrl-C
Back in Word (The whole Doc is still selected) Ctr-V, replaces all without the Text Boxes.
Of course this strips all formatting and graphics also.
Not perfect, but quick and easy.

unfortunately graphics are part of the document...... tried online converter and for the most part it worked....

Are you sure they are Text Boxes and not Frames? Usually, OCR and PDF converters use Frames to 'organise' text so that layout looks as the original.

If they are Frames, add the Remove Frames command to the QAT. That will remove all the frames in a single click.

Note that you may need to do quite an onerous amount of editing to get the formatting back to the original again!
