    Modem Problems

I recently downloaded new drivers for my modem and now it seems as though I don't connect to internet as well. Alot of diconnects that I didn't have before. The basics if needed:AOL 6.0, Win98Se, IE5.5, Rockwell HCF 56K DataFax PCI Modem.
Thanks in advance for the help!

    Re: Modem Problems

    Hi,
My first suggestion would be to reinstall the modem using the original drivers to see if that cures the problem. I would say however that using AOL in the UK (not sure where you are) I've had one or two connection problems in the last week but seem to be OK now.
It might be worth trying a different access number first just to check.
    Hope that helps.

    Re: Modem Problems

Generally, the modem connection itself will remain stable. (In most cases, if your drivers are installed incorrectly, you won't be able to connect at all.) I agree with Rory tho, sounds like your ISP may be at fault. If you have no problem spending a few hours on the phone, you might try calling tech support, (you know you can wrench a free month from AOL with these types of problems) and see if they've had connection issues lately.

    Hope this helps!
