This has to be a simple thing, but I'm blowed if I can see it. Access 2010.

I have a data entry form and I want to add a button. When I drag the button down, it appears as wide as the column of the stuff above it. I cannot see how to stop this happening and to resize it. What have I got set that does this?

This didn't happen in older versions.

    Did you bypass 2007?
This sounds like the Layouts at work. In Design View select all the controls on the form, and go to Arrange...Remove. This does not delete the controls, just removes them from the Layout.
