I have Microsoft Office installed 2003 version which works well in Win 7. However I did not install Outlook; just do not need or want it. Now problem is Windows Udate wants to do updates to this software which is not installed...!!??

The icon in my taskbar just will not go away. Anybody know what may be the solution? Thank you .

    Andy, greets.

    >>> right click it and choose hide this update-see if it works.

It works here, no reason for it not to. JP.

Julius, check this Microsoft knowledge base support article on the issue you describe, especially Scenario 2.

If you hide the update as Andy suggests, you should not see it offered again unless you choose to unhide it.
