    Mail handouts (PowerPoint 2000)

Have never heard of this before, but one of my attorneys wants to e-mail his PowerPoint handouts (not the slides, just the handouts) to another person. I can't think of anyway that could be done. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

Have you tried the send to Word feature, it is under the File menu. That might give you what he is looking for.

    Re: Mail handouts (PowerPoint 2000)

    Catherine,
I appreciate the suggestion. I tried it, and when I look at the Word document, I get the format of the handouts, and I get frames for the slides but no "pictures." If I double click on the frame, I can see the slide but it has the rulers, etc., which means to me that I am actually working with the slide. What am I missing here, please! Thanks for your help.

    Karnie
Running with Windows 2000 and Office 2000.
Following Catherine's suggestion, I went to File | Send To | Microsoft Word, then chose Notes Below Slides
I ended up with a Word Documents with one slide per page displayed exactly as for PowerPoint notes print out i.e. slide at the top, notes beneath. The slides looked exactly like the PowerPoint slides i.e. in colour., with pictures and diagrams.
Is this what you tried? If so, could there be something wrong with Office 2000 installation? (no idea what that might be - sorry)

I guess you are just fine.
This method inserts the slides as Powerpoint slide objects; doubleclicking opens them and you can actually work with the slide in Word.
As to no seeing the pictures, go to Tools/Options, then the View tab and uncheck the checkbox "Show Picture Placeholders". Then you should be able to see the slides.
    Hope this helps

Just had a thought about Word.
Any chance you have Tools | Options | View | Picture Placeholders set.
I'm not confident that setting this would give the effect you describe, but I suppose it's worth checking.

    Re: Mail handouts (PowerPoint 2000)

I tried using the File --> Send to--> Word and tried both Handouts and Notes. Both gave me just frames - no slides. I'll check with our tech support people re: the setup. We are using Office 2000 and PowerPoint and Word 2000. If anyone has any suggestions as to what might be wrong with my install, I'd appreciate them. Thanks for your help.

That was the answer. I was given a new computer about a week ago, and that must have been checked by default. Thank you very much.
