    Edit:

    I fixed this by uninstalling and then re-installing FoxIt Reader.

    If I have I 8 installed, and the latest Firefox (with updates), shouldn't PDF files open directly in the browser? Used to, but now it just keeps asking me if I want to save the file.

    ?

    I use PDF X-Change Viewer. I much prefer it over Fox-it Reader.

    Ted;

    I wasn't really looking for a "new" solution, just a "fixed" one. But I have to say that d/l PDF X-Change Viewer.and after about 10 minutes with it, I'm pretty sold.

    The only thin g I wish is that when I click a PDF link in a browser, that it would open the page(s) in a browser window, rather than launcher the viewer. But then, that' pretty minor I would say...

    Thanks,
    Chuck

    Ted, ya know what's too bad? Opening a PDF in IE8 with PDF X-Change Viewer is pretty straightforward. In Firefox though, it doesn't open directly in the browser that see, but rather launches the viewer.

    I'll keep poking around.

    Chuck

    After my latest problems with FF (version 3.6.10) I uninstalled it anyway. Both IE 9 (beta) and Chrome 6 open a PDF in the browser using PDF X-Chnge viewer.
