I have a new Windows 7 computer. When I try to install FrontPage 2003 it asks for Office 98 or Office 2000 which I no longer have and seem to have misplaced the disks. I do have Office 2010.

Can anyone suggest a way I can install FrontPage 2003?

    Thanks,
    Burr Taylor

I think that FP 2003 uses some shared directories from Office 2003?

Thank you, but I am not sure how that helps.
Also, I miswrote. It is looking for Office 97 or Office 2000.

    Hi Burr,

A couple of quick questions - is it a standalone copy of Frontpage or is it an Office 2003 installation disk that includes Frontpage, and is it an upgrade version of Frontpage?

Forgive me if I'm going down the wrong path here, but that sounds as if it's asking you where the previous version of Frontpage is so it can check that you qualify for the upgrade.

If that is the case, then back in those days you could usually get away with pointing it towards itself - when it asks for the location of the previous version of office, navigate to the installation CD and point it at itself, and that was usually enough to satisfy it.

Let me know if that helps or not.

    Mike.

    Thanks Mike,

I do not remember. It is a standalone disk which I guess is an update. A memory is a terrible thing to lose.

If you have an MSDN subscription, you can still download the full version.

PS - I have no ideas why they didn't keep updating this - it's still the easiest web designer around.

I actually have Microsoft Frontpage 2003 installed with Office 2010. I don't really use it, but needed it for a specific circumstance. It installed without any issues. As it has been suggested, I think your problem may arise from yours being an upgrade version.
