Is it at HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles that the e-mail accounts (includes passwords?) are stored? So I can export that key and re-merge it if needed?

    Regards,
    Chuck Billow

In Outlook, the folder you want to backup is the outlook.pst file. It is usually found at c:\users\yourname\appdata\local\microsoft\outlook. Substitute your real name for "yourname" in path. Make sure to set folder options to show hidden files as the outlook.pst is usually hidden by Windows. You can set the Windows backup to copy that file if you are using Windows Vista or 7. Just make sure the file is NOT hidden when setting up any backup tool.

Chuck, yes, though the exact location may be OS dependent - you may want to search your entire registry for ."Windows Messaging Subsystem\Profiles" and back up any replicas.

Jeff, email profile information is not stored in the PST.
