I am running Windows 7 x64 and Office 2007. Both have all the latest patches, updates and etc.
Clipboard is refusing to work right. If I copy something into the clipboard, open the "recipient" program and then try to paste the selection in, all I get is a little error bell going "ding". BUT if I already have the recipient program open when I do the copy-to-the-clipboard operation, it works just fine. It will paste the selection without any problem.
Why does Microsoft always screw things up?
Does anyone know why this might be happening to me?

Did you install any kind of clipboard management software? I ask because I do this almost constantly and have no problem pasting clipboard contents into apps that have not yet been started. And I use both 32-bit and 64-bit Win7.
