    Post-Patch version number - MS page wrong? (9.0.4402 SR-1 (???) (Excel 200

I just installed the patches shown in MS Security Bulletin MS01-050 (Malformed Excel or PowerPoint Document Can Bypass Macro Security). I have Office 2000 on the relevant machine, with Excel and Powerpoint. For both programs, the patches downloaded and installed with little hassle. But, I kept on reading the TechNet page...

    at http://www.microsoft.com/technet/treeview/...in/ms01-050.asp

it says (under the heading "Additional Information"):

    >>>Verifying patch installation:

    >>>Microsoft Excel 2000 for Windows:
    >>> Select the Help menu, and choose "About", and verify that the
    >>> version shown in the dialogue is 9.0.5519.

Yet, I've run the patch and it tells me that I now have version number 9.0.4402 SR-1.

I ran the patch twice, and the second time it told me I'd already installed the patch.

So, I don't know for sure, but it appears that the information on the MS TechNet Web page is not correct -- anybody able to confirm? Or, am I a doofus? (Please don't answer that last question.)

(That 5519 number is also shown on the TechNet page as what should be the new version number for PowerPoint after patching -- and, in fact, that is what shows on my installation.)

Similar story here - I get 4402 on Excel and 4527 on PowerPoint - and I have applied the patch as far as I can tell. Perhaps because I've done it administratively, it's different.

    At least I'm not crazy <img src=/S/crazy.gif border=0 alt=crazy width=15 height=15>

I don't think it's an administrator issue. On the machine where this problem occurred, I'm running WinME.
